Your files stay on your device
This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and you can even turn off your internet connection before you start.
How it works
- Drop .webp images onto the box, or choose them from your device.
- No settings are needed. PNG is lossless, so the decoded pixels, including the alpha channel, are stored exactly.
- Press Convert to PNG. The conversion runs in a Web Worker in your browser.
- Download the PNG files one at a time or as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
- Why convert WebP to PNG rather than JPG?
- PNG keeps transparency and never adds compression artefacts, which matters for logos, icons, screenshots, stickers and anything with text or sharp edges. JPG is better only for photographs where a smaller file matters more than exactness.
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. Everything happens inside your browser. The files never leave your device, and the tool keeps working offline.
- Is the transparent background preserved?
- Yes. WebP supports an alpha channel and so does PNG, so transparency is carried over exactly. Nothing is filled with white.
- Why is the PNG bigger than the WebP?
- WebP is compressed, often lossily; PNG stores every pixel losslessly. A larger file is the normal price for an exact copy. If size matters, keep the WebP or convert to JPG.
- What are the free limits?
- The free plan allows 3 files per run, 20 MB per file and 10 runs per day. Pro removes these limits.
